“ When I called to report my battery dying immediately following Lexus service appt (oil change, NYS inspection, tire rotation and car wash) and I suggested it was very curious to me that the day prior there were so many āLexus eyes and handsā working on my car and then suddenly my battery dies and as luck would have it - the day before a blizzard! Now thereās no way of knowing for sure, but the least I wouldāve expected from the manager of a luxury car dealership ( who Iāve been going to for all of my services and never had a problem) suddenly takes a very defensive tone with me and says are you accusing us of doing something? No, Iām not accusing you Iām simply calling you to let you know that the timing is questionable and it is possible that someone during service left a wire lose or failed to close accessory light, or door etc. and put me at higher risk of battery dying. I was lucky enough to be able, even though it was the evening the next day when I discovered it to get a battery and have it installed! I donāt even wanna think what wouldāve happened if I woke up with my car buried as it was from the blizzard and then also to have my battery dead on top of that! What upset me more than the fact that it is very possible that it was just my batteryās time to die - was the tone of the conversation with this manager, and his reaction to my concerns, and the way he seemed disturbingly comfortable with speaking to me the way he did (and he didnāt even realize his tone - which is scarier), even after I told him I have health issues and certainly did not like the way he spoke to me and the tone of the conversation, and it could actually affect my health in a negative way. Yet he still took no accountability and apparently is not trained in how to handle customer concerns and had the nerve to then accuse me of accusing them of nefarious behavior! I found his tone dismissive, smug, and a bit on the man-splaining side telling me that batteries eventually die! (Really? I had no idea! SMH) my point is the timing - again totally normal that myself and a few family members and friends also found it a little sus. But this āmanagerā felt ok with trying to talk over me, gaslight me, and told me basically āHey batteries die, and it wouldāve cost just as much to buy it from Lexus or from somewhere else so what are you gonna do?ā Very cavalier and dismissive. You can accuse me of accusing you, yet did you ever put yourself in a customers shoes that why wouldnāt it cross my mind that maybe you wanted me to buy a basic model battery from you at the higher model price (+ labor) that I got from an outside vendor, who didnāt charge me installation? This is a normal human reaction to think hmmm the timing is very weird here let me give them a call. And maybe, just maybe since they knew, I told them that day no other service needs to be done Iām on a tight budget right now, but since I always came to them for servicing that I would turn around and come back and buy a battery from them?! I think as a customer, itās okay for me to question these things⦠and also question why is he going immediately on the defensive instead of just saying something like āWe are so sorry that happened, and although we are very careful when we service our customers cars and since we appreciate your business and you as a loyal Lexus owner, maybe thereās something that we can do for the inconvenience that this caused you.ā Or at the very least BE NICE on the phone to a customer! IMO Smithtown Lexus needs to have customer service training with their managerial staff specifically... So the problem is apparently from the top that maybe some customer service workshops would come in handy. As the saying goesā¦āItās not what you say, itās how you say it.ā I will no longer be using Lexus Smithtown for servicing my car. ”

“ I was hopeful that this dealership would be honest, but not the case. I leased a 2025 RX350 in October 2025. I went back a forth several time with a young girl because the person I was dealing with previously left. I was not able to get there during daylight to pick up the car. I did not see it before the day of pick up because the specific color combo was not onsite. They showed me the exact same truck just different exterior color. Ok. So I get there at night and the truck was parked with the red distraction bow. I sign papers (first mistake) then I went outside with the tech person. First thing I notice is the mileage of 1600 miles. they assure me this is normal itās due to transportation of vehicle. This is the first time I leased so I did not have time to research. Rush through everything. I drive home in the dark. Wake up the next day and notice some small scratches and dog paw prints on the seats and the middle console. When I call the sales girl she couldnāt care less now. She now says the owner used the truck for a bit. So this is acceptable? She flippantly said just bring it in and weāll clean it again. I said I canāt wait there for this. She has no other solution. I would never have accepted this vehicle. ”
