The Debut of the LF-G Indicates Future Design Track for Lexus
When the Lexus LF-Gh completed its stunning debut at the recent 2011 New York International Auto Show, this leading Japanese manufacturing was signaling the world it was redefining what a grand touring car should look like. The company goal was to project that perfect blend of environmental compatibility and efficiency mixed with performance and style. The presentation of the LF-Gh displayed a refinement and evolution that Lexus has undertaken since its L-finesse design philosophy was first established in 2001. Yet, this newest addition strikes a much bolder and more distinctive display of just what the luxury segment could and should become. The success of this new style statement concept may find its way migrating to different Lexus production models in the near future.
Pushing Tradition A Little Further Up The Road
When viewing the LF-Gh, critic or enthusiast alike can easily see that Lexus is trying to take the concept of a grand touring sedan a couple of steps farther down the road. First off, the car has been designed from a high-performance point of view to deliver an awe-inspiring driving experience while carrying passengers in luxurious comfort across long distances. This vehicle easily joins functionality with attractive emotional appeal since it possesses many different upgrades in creature comforts as well as cargo space design to accommodate luggage for a long extended journey. Looking at the vehicle’s strong, wide stance gives great reflection to its incredibly strong and dynamic performance abilities. The car was built on an agile, rear-drive platform, but does offer an extreme generous amount of interior space for four adult occupants possessing a distinctive, long and comfortable design. LED lighting gives a hint to how the manufacturer is putting to good use of scope of new materials, blending electronics with dynamic systems that are all incorporated for customer appeal and user-friendly functionality in the newly displayed LF-Gh.
Every Line Evokes Both Function And Form
Looking good while operating is a hallmark of the construction and design found in the LF-Gh where the front end incorporates a grill that is spindle-shaped, yet contributes effectively to aerodynamics as well as both the brake duct and radiator operations. This specific key feature is one that will be incorporated into many of the company’s future models because every line of this vehicle's body shouts both function and form. A good example is how the air flows through the front inlets right next to the vertically aligned LED fog lamps. And then the air exits through similar slim thinly cut outlets near the rear of the vehicle while following the tail end curves. This presentation of sleek lines along with improved aerodynamics explores the ability to minimize such items as door handles and mirrors to affect not only the look but also the function.
Since the car’s concept produced increased width, designers acquired a canvas that was expansive enough to develop a unique wraparound LED lamp presentation complete with small reflectors that are set behind the all red lenses. The designers made extremely effective use of slim chrome trim elements in such areas as the bumper, exhaust and diffuser that turned out to be excellent style touches.
A vehicle looking this good, performing this well, is but a sign of what Lexus will offer in the future.
