The CT 200h Offers Sporty Styling
There are currently five hybrid offerings in the present Lexus line-up. Including all Toyotas, this leading Japanese auto manufacturer sold more than 500,000 hybrids in 2010. That’s a half million. So, Toyota, and Lexus in particular, is no stranger to the hybrid universe. In fact, they are the “creator” of said universe. Yet, how has Lexus transitioned from appealing to just environmentally friendly enthusiasts to the average consumer seeking a great deal on a luxury car? After all, it’s hardly a stretch marketing to tree huggers, right? Conservative lines coupled with fantastic fuel economy seldom attract enthusiasts looking for an exciting and sporty drive. While many people daily consume a ham and cheese sandwich on plain white bread, others will pay a premium price to dine on hand carved glazed ham on Panini with some merlot reduction with garlic aioli applied lovingly. It’s a fact Honda has proven hybrids do not have to be boring. Can it possibly be that Lexus has found an attractive formula when it comes to the CT200h? It happens to be a one-of-a-kind vehicle, and, appearance-wise, might be a great choice for a sporty looking hybrid.
An Outside Look Far More Aggressive
Yes, upon first glance it is quite obvious that the CT 200h looks way more stylish than any other Lexus both present and past. Lexus has the reputation for designing vehicles rather conservatively. But not the CT200h. This is the company’s first-ever hatchback and the observer might think you are staring at a creature from a Star Wars movie. The vehicle does have a fairly angled hood with an upright windshield but really doesn’t resemble any ugly movie monster. Instead, it looks like an upscaled Scion that has become quite popular due to its trendy, future-like look. The CT200h commands much more presence than any other Lexus does.
Inside is Lookin’ Good
Lexus did an excellent job creating an interior look that far surpasses the Scion. When it comes to the selection of materials as well as executing build quality that is at the top of the mark, the CT200h provides a much more upscale look than many competitors. There are select interior parts that jump out easily noticed for their stylish creations such as the gearshifter. This item is fitted with a chrome handle that is quite attractive to the eye. Plus, the ergonomics and “toys” found in the interior are nothing but top shelf, a fact that Lexus has built quite a reputation for presenting. The CT comes equipped with a user-friendly navigation system featuring a new mouse-like control pad fitted on the center console. This user-friendly set-up for an operator central command console is far easier to use than anything offered by any Lexus competitor. The highlight, however, is the driving position emulates those found in a sports coupe presenting a low-slung seating that makes a person believe the CT is a Japanese incarnation of the GTI.
All things considered, the CT200h offers great looks while delivering the exceptional fuel economy hybrids are known to produce.
